its cool that the OCR technology, it does exactly what I want it to convert the PDFs to, worth the money.

I have no idea how this application received any 5 star ratings because I cannot get it to work. When you go to convert it crashes every time. I want my money back! Do not buy this app! It wont work!

This application does not work at all! Every time you try to save a document it cuts off.

It did what I wanted it to do: convert the scanned PDF and some image document into word and excel, and they are editable. Really useful for me.

Ive just converted a PDF document to word, full of graphics, heading styles and fiddly formatting and it turned out perfectly (it was super-fast,too.) Thank you very much indeed.

Ive never had a problem with converting any PDF files into a editable files. All the pictures, lines and tables have been kept the original layouts. It does what exactly it claims to do. Many "thanks" to the developer. Deserves 5 stars!

The promise is excellent - take any PDF and OCR into Word, Excel etc. But it fails completely when dealing with multi-page PDFs or multiple single page PDFs. While the first page is OCRed beautifully (I was converting to Excel format) with tables data exporting well - that’s where it stops, on the first page. The rest of the pages of a multiple page PDF or remainder of PDFs (in a multiple PDF project) just have gibberish characters. The only workaround I stumbled upon was to double click each page (and each page of each PDF) so it generates a preview, before converting it. Notice the words “stumbled upon”, the Help is useless. So if you are working with a 10 page PDF, thats 10 double clicks manuallly but then you were expecting this to be automated in an app that promises this automation, didn’t you? Completely useless! Add to this the interface issues. Once you are done with one PDF and want to move on to the other, you have to close the app, and relaunch it to be able to get to a blank starting slate. Don’t buy it unless you know FOR SURE that you will be working with single page PDFs only and that too, only one single page PDF at a time. Argh!! (Trying to suppress the urge to type in some obscenities and click the Submit button instead).

It really impressed me with its beautiful and approachable interface which instructs me through some simple clicks to convert PDF files. Works great for converting to images and doc. as well. I use it every day and love it.

Don’t buy this because only the first page works accurately. All pages after the first one are gibberish words that fail to convert correctly. As of January 20, 2014, this version (3.1.0) is garbage for all multipage files. For example, if your goal is to improve your computerized notes for college classes and you need to convert a ten-page PDF lecture file into a PPT file to print it out with small note lines next to each slide, then this app will fail the job for you, because every slide after the first one has weird words (like $#!^) everywhere inside it. Instead of buying this and wasting your $12-$80 dollars, buy Nuance PDF Converter for the Mac.

Purchased on sale for $12.99 and it seems to work well enough. It converted all 9 pages of my scanned document with reasonable margin of error for OCR. Not sure why we need to download 3.2.0 from their website though instead of the app store

The built-in OCR system makes it a powerful app. I used it to convert some of my scanned PDFs and even some images into Word, Excel or other documents as I need. Though it makes me kinda dizzy when I try to edit the OCR zone, the page just was covered with colorful frames. But when you figure out the function of each button, you can handle your PDF files with more skills. Since its a good app, I dont mind giving it 5 stars.

I think I get a good application, and had an enjoyable experience. I have to say the designer of this app are very creative. They did a great job!

I firmly believe that this is what I found the most practical app. what the most powerful features of this app is it is wholly suited to get the contents from the scanned PDF or image as well as normal PDF files. Otherwise, it can convert PDF files to 15 document formats! It is amazing!

I like perfect. This app did the results I want. I am very satisfied with it. At first, this app applied 15formats to choose, I can use it to do many things. Then, it ensured that the format of the conversion files. 5 stars, I gave it!

I finally decided to buy this app after much comprehensive comparison of a lot of apps. In fact its performance is the best, and compared with other products, it is not the most expensive. Its function is very comprehensive, Almost did everything I need it to do. So, 5 stars will be given to it.

i bought this with great hope but it takes long to read a single page,difficult to use and takes hours to read a simple image which even the free apps do better.wasted my money...

I think that it was very difficult to review all of the PDF/OCR tools that were listed in the app store and I think that Apple needs to do a better job regulating what kind of software is sold in their marketplace. The information provided was misleading, and the reviews of the software did not help much in understanding the functionality of this program. It had appeared like you could batch/edit and convert files, this is not the case. You need to click on every page and manually input the parameters for OCR. The program will estimate for you, but it still requires doublechecking and selecting additional text. The OCR engine and conversion is considerably slower than other programs. eBook formats are extremely sloppy and should just be removed from the list of export formats. I would not recommend this program unless you only need to convert/OCR one page at a time. I am glad I bought this at a discount because it is unusable for my purposes and I deleted the program immediately after purchasing it.

I have a PDF file with OCR, ordinary PDF converter can’t meet my requirement. There are many table, images in my file. I tried other converter, they made me disappointed. This app is the exception. It helped me convert my OCR PDF file without any quality loss. I like this app very much! Maybe in some peoples opinion there are some little shortcomings, it works for me.

I scan loads of documests and need an efficient and accurate OCR program. I’ve tried dozens, but none has had anywhere the accuracy of this one. I no longer need to spend hours finding and correcting OCR errors. PDG Converter with OCR solves every problem I have had.
